This kitchen was designed as part of an extension to create a new open plan space. The existing kitchen footprint was unsuitable for modern family living and so the impressive extension was integrated into existing rooms to create one large room across the back of the house. Our brief was to design a kitchen that provided a large amount of storage and a central island. Tall larder cupboards, combined with a fridge and ovens, created generous storage capacity and kept all of the tall furniture in one area. There was limited wall space left for a hob so this was designed into the island with an integrated ceiling extractor above. These clever extractors are unobtrusive but provide enough power to clear a large room. A breakfast bar on the opposite side of the island seated four people allowing the family to come together.
