Designer's Tips
If your home has charming features try to incorporate them into the new deisgn, as we did with the brick walls in this kitchen.
Â
A simple way of adding lights over a window sink is to run a link shelf between wall cupboards and setting lighting within it..

Design Brief
Â
This narrow kitchen was dominated by a large, unsightly mantle feature that surrounded a range cooker. This was removed to open up the room and replaced with some much needed storage cupboards. The large pan drawers provide practicle storage, whilst the glass dressers and top cupboards form an attractive surround. An American style fridge freezer had to be included in the design but we had to be careful that it didn't become another bulky eyesore. To overcome this we framed it with units, one of which was a tall larder pull-out which, together with the fridge, provided a designated storage area for all food types. A small breakfast bar was created out of timber to provide a link with dark wood funishings in the adjoining lounge.
