Designer's Tips

Re-positioning a radiator can drastically change the architecture of a room. A whole wall was freed up by moving a radiator on this project which allowed us to completely re-design the kitchen. A new tall radiator was chosen to mirror the height of the adjacent tall units.

Integrated appliances and hot water taps remove small appliances like kettles and microwaves from the worksurfaces, leaving them clutter free.

Design Brief

An old wooden kitchen was removed and replaced with a minimalist contemporary design. The fridge freezer was originally standing in the adjoining utility room, so for convenience we re-located this in the kitchen and surrounded it with pull-out larder storage. A wrap-around run of units made up the main part of the kitchen, with a large peninsular unit maximising the use of the floor space. Curved units created an interesting design on the end and a casual dining area was opened up at the back for two stools. A large induction hob was positioned over a pan drawer unit which provided storage for the customers cooking utensils. Accessible storage in the form of a pull-out base unit and Le-mans corner pull-out was fitted either side of the hob. An under mounted sink was set under the quartz workops with a mixer tap and instant hot water tap positioned in the worktop behind. We extended the worktop upstands into the window sill to give the customer complete protection from splashing water. The customer's oven was recently replaced, so we refitted this into a new midi-height housing opposite the hob. An integrated wall microwave, combined with the hot water tap meant the worktops were free of small appliances. A run of frame glazed walls units above the oven completed the modern feel.
