Design Brief

A new extension to the home provided the opportunity to create an open plan living area for the client. The design has a sociable ambience with its multifunctional island as well as dining table to gather around. The dark wenge-toned Izari cabinets are highlighted by the Luna quartz worksurfaces and the Aqua glass splashbacks. Structural constraints prevented a central supporting column from being removed, so we designed the island unit to minimise its impact. Cupboards surrounded the base of the column creating the impression that it was sitting on top of the island. An overhang on the back of the worktop provided a niche for three bar stools.
