Design Brief

This compact kitchen in a terraced property needed updating and improving. We removed the existing kitchen, flooring and wall tiles and then upgraded the electrics, re-plastered the walls and layed a new tiled floor. New painted units were fitted as were integrated appliances, including a double oven and a washing machine. With space at a premium it was vital to come up with as many space saving ideas as possible. To free up worktop space we removed a freestanding microwave from the surface and replaced it with a wall mounted model. We extended the base units closer to a doorway, but made a special angled end unit to maintain the walkway. Despite its lack of units the kitchen design still had to contain some decorative features. These were provided in the form of glass wall units and a bespoke plate rack. The kitchen was finished with bold blue wall tiles which added a splash of colour.
